AISA MUSIC
Music activities at AISA aim to uphold the school’s mission of cultivating global citizenship by broadening students’ musical horizons. AISA Music promotes an attitude of appreciation and respect for a variety of music styles and traditions.
MUSIC CURRICULUM
AISA strives to present a dynamic music curriculum: not only developing students’ creative expression and artistic abilities but at the same time challenging them to display a character of academic perseverance, guiding them through the process of developing self-discipline and awakening an appreciation of ensemble effort.
Middle School Music is currently a semester course wherein students are encouraged to participate in practical activities such as singing, playing different percussion instruments, body percussion and performing music from a notated score. Students are given the opportunity listen to and discuss Classical Western music, World Music as well as contemporary Rock and Pop Music. A brief introduction to basic music theory is also incorporated into this course.

MUSEZ Drama
MUSEZ are the middle school performing arts group, whom have begun to put on combined Drama/Music shows. The Drama group meets at least once a week after school for a series of activities including games, improv, scriptwork, etc. In the 2nd Semester these sessions become rehearsals for the May production. We have also arranged outings and social events. The work done by this group so far, gives promise of a bright future for Performing Arts at AISA.
MUSEZ Music
The music section of MUSEZ currently consists of an all-girls vocal ensemble.
The aim of this after school activity is to encourage students to develop a sense of good vocal production, sharpen their self-discipline through regular attendance of rehearsals, develop their musicianship, allow them to experience a variety of secular vocal genres and explore the art of performing. The ensemble performs at various AISA events throughout the year. Music is a powerful tool in nurturing a student’s self-confidence and MUSEZ music strives to deliver creative and disciplined performing artists.
MUSEZ music rehearsals are every Sunday from after school until 3:45pm in the Music room.
