At the American International School in Abu Dhabi, we are committed to delivering an exceptional educational experience through a curriculum that integrates the innovative, holistic, and inquiry-based approach of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes with American curriculum standards. The American curriculum defines the "what" of our teaching, and the IB guides the "how," offering a student-centered, inquiry-based approach fostering international mindedness and open-mindedness. 

Curriculum Pathways:

• Primary Years Programme (PYP): All KG1 to Grade 5 students are enrolled in the PYP, fostering inquiry-based learning and international mindedness.

• American Curriculum Middle and High School (Grades 6-12): While following American curriculum standards, we integrate IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning to enhance student-centered learning and critical thinking, culminating in an American diploma.

• Diploma Programme (DP): Separate from the American curriculum standards, students can opt for the IBDP-specific curriculum in Grades 11-12, with preparation beginning in Grade 10.

• Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

• AERO Standards for Social Studies and World Languages

• SHAPE America Physical Education Standards

• National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) for Visual and Performing Arts

• Ministry of Education (MOE) Curriculum Standards for Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, and UAE Social Studies

• IB Diploma Programme Curriculum for DP students in grades 11 and 12.
