Learning Support

Learning Support (LS) is a program designed to support students with identified learning needs. The LS specialists work with students in small groups or individually, in the classroom or in a quiet space. The LS specialists are a resource to all teachers as they can provide or suggest a wide array of strategies to meet the academic needs of different learners. For those students who have had external assessments and have provided the corresponding report, a Student Success Plan is created. This plan includes goals and differentiation strategies for the student, as well as identified accommodations to be followed (i.e. the use of assistive technology, accommodations for testing, etc.).  With all learners, teachers individualize instruction to provide “just right” support.
